A thought just came to my mind why not to look for solutions of some of the blunders which I had committed last year at Halloween time while making pumpkin recipes. I thought why not to look for their solutions. You know what I missed out the last year was the roasting of pumpkin.

While shopping for pumpkins go for the ones which are labelled as sugar or pie. Many pumpkin types are there which have hard, thick skin but are quite delicious in taste. Choose the one whose outside looks good it doesn’t matter if it’s a little dull unless there is any spot visible. You know what Pumpkins can be kept in store for months even at cool room temperature as they do have long shelf life.

Never ever go for big ones always go for the smaller pumpkins. The bigger ones which may weigh around 10 to 11 pounds are actually hard to cut and use. Bigger the pumpkin is the more number of seeds it contains and it becomes tough to actually remove them. Handling such big pumpkins becomes hard with huge mess scattered here and there at the kitchen counter. Better go for the smaller ones which are easy to use and cut.

At times when the pumpkin is really big one you can simply break it down into slices. It can be done by the use of a chef knife and slowly push the knife into it, apply pressure straightly downwards, and then wiggle the knife from sideways, widening the crack. For peeling firstly slice pumpkin into half and then clean it. Keep the cut piece into microwave until the skin gets moved away. Once the skin is removed you can either slice or chop the puree as per needed. Never ever peel the pumpkin before roasting as once you do like this the tiny bits of peel will be scattered here and there.

Not all of the pumpkin slices would ever fit into the oven just at single time you need to do this in batches. So better to make use of bigger size ovens which can be used to roast whole of the pumpkin at a stretch.
Now when I have quoted these mistakes and looked for their solutions I am hoping that I won’t be encountering any of the above mistakes. However it seems quite a cumbersome task to buy, cut, peel, roast, and cook the pumpkin so often.
A friend of mine suggested me to go for the ready-made options which can also be used during the off seasons.
I looked for some recipes in the web which make use of the readymade pumpkins. I have shortlisted three brands with varied pumpkin recipes let me name them here one by one Knorr Pumpkin Soup, Pumpkin Pie with Cinnamon Creme Fraiche and last but not the least why not to try something in sweet with pumpkin, here you go Marthastewart Pumpkin Muffins . You know what I successfully tried all three pumpkin recipes that’s why I am sharing them here. These are now my best choice and tried and tested by me.
